Artist Statement

I throw vessels on a kicking wheel and alter them immediately when clay is still very soft, thus capturing the vibrancy and immediacy.  It is fascinating when a ball of clay moves up slowly and smoothly between my hands and a vessel, an expression comes into being. 

I wish, through few simple actions, to let clay become strong expressions which convey emotions and messages to the audience.  I hope my work will have universal appeal that transcends borders, languages, and cultures, touching the hearts and minds of different people and reminding them of our shared humanity.
